A Passenger Name Record (PNR) is the booking record an airline or GDS stores for a trip. It contains the passenger names, flight segments, booking classes, status codes and ticketing details — but in a compact, coded format that is hard to read at a glance.
FlyTix decodes the PNR into a structured itinerary so you, or your passenger, can read it instantly.
You do not need to know which system produced the PNR. FlyTix scores the input against each supported parser (for example an RP/ header points to Amadeus; 1.1-style names and a vendor locator line point to Galileo) and formats accordingly. Only Amadeus and Galileo are supported today.
A booking cannot be saved until it has a minimum set of elements. In Amadeus these are the name (NM), at least one segment, a contact element (AP), a ticketing arrangement (TK) and received-from (RF), after which the agent ends the transaction (ET or ER). Galileo has the same building blocks under different entries: name N., phone P., ticketing T. (for example T.TAU/10FEB), received-from R., then ER.
Only some of these matter to the traveller. FlyTix reads the names, segments and booking reference, plus ticket numbers once issued. It deliberately ignores contact, received-from and remark elements, which are agency housekeeping rather than travel information.
